Here’s a look at my painting process for a pair of custom shoes featuring Darth Sidious/Emperor. Painting process one starts with taping off both shoes so I can paint the star fields first before working on the image of the Emperor.
The star field is achieved using Liquitex free style brushes. I love these brushes because they give such a great random splatter effect.
After using the Liquitex free style brushes to create the star field, I moved on to adding a glow to various stars and adding bursts around the shoes. Then I painted in the main white base shape of the Emperor on both shoes. Once that dried overnight, I put down the pencils and then outlined the Emperor for each shoe.
