I started on this Batman piece recently. It’s painted on black illustration board. In high school this was one of my favorite types of illustration, but back then I used colored pencils to render the subject. it’s great to experiment with this type of illustration using acrylics this time.

Here’s a glimpse of a new Batman/TMNT sketch cover commission I am currently knocking out. I started with pencilling out the overall design. Here is the finished Batman Red Rain painting from one of my favorite Elseworld stories. Painted with Liquitex paint on Strathmore Artagain paper.
Made a little more progress of this Halloween inspired Batman Red Rain painting. In this second painting stage, I used dry brush technique. I like the way dry brush picks up the texture of the paper while layering the paint. Next up will be finishing up Batman and then adding in the background.
